A’ja Wilson has made AP history, earning Associated Press WNBA Player of the Year for a third consecutive season. Wilson received 15 of 17 first-place votes from the national media panel, giving her four AP Player of the Year awards since the honor began in 2016 — the most in the award’s history.
Angel Reese took AP Defensive Player of the Year after finishing third in the league in steals and leading the WNBA in rebounding for a third consecutive season. Minnesota rookie Olivia Miles was the unanimous AP Rookie of the Year after averaging 19.8 points, 6.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds while helping the Lynx finish with the league's best record.
Caitlin Clark was named AP Comeback Player of the Year after returning from an injury-shortened 2025 season to average 22.3 points, 8.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds across 40 games. Cheryl Reeve won AP Coach of the Year for the third time, while Jessica Shepard won Most Improved Player after averaging career highs of 14.5 points, 11.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 31.7 minutes for Dallas.
The Dallas Wings also had Paige Bueckers selected to the AP All-WNBA Second Team and Azzi Fudd named to the AP All-Rookie Team. Janelle Salaün won AP Sixth Player of the Year after averaging 12.7 points and 4.0 rebounds for Golden State.
