Chelsea Gray Hits Late Winner as Aces Edge Dream in Atlanta Debut for Reese

The Las Vegas Aces held off the Atlanta Dream 85-84 on Sunday at State Farm Arena behind 21 points from Chelsea Gray and 20 from A’ja Wilson. Atlanta nearly erased a 19-point deficit in the second half, led by Allisha Gray’s 25 points, but came up short in the final seconds. Angel Reese finished with nine points, eight rebounds and three assists in her home debut for the Dream.

Las Vegas controlled much of the afternoon before Atlanta surged late behind Gray and Jordin Canada. The Dream had a chance to steal the game in the closing possessions, but Chelsea Gray answered with the decisive basket with 3.6 seconds remaining. Reese struggled offensively, shooting 1-for-8 from the field and committing eight turnovers as Atlanta dropped its first game of the season.

Wilson continued her strong start to the year after scoring 45 points Friday against Connecticut, while the Aces improved with another road win early in the season. Atlanta played without consistent rhythm offensively in the first half but showed life late behind its backcourt pressure and transition scoring.

The Aces return home Friday to face the Los Angeles Sparks at Michelob ULTRA Arena. Atlanta remains at home for a Friday matchup against the Dallas Wings before hosting the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday.
