A’ja Wilson scores historic 45 points to lead Aces over Sun, 101-94

A'ja Wilson delivered another historic performance against the Connecticut Sun, scoring 45 points on 15-of-18 shooting to lead the Las Vegas Aces to a 101-94 win. Wilson added 13 free throws without a miss as Las Vegas improved to 3-1. Chennedy Carter scored 18 points for the Aces, while rookie Hailey Van Lith led Connecticut with 17 points in the Sun’s fourth consecutive loss.

Wilson controlled the game from the opening quarter, hitting all five of her first quarter shots before closing with one of the most efficient high-scoring games of her career. Connecticut trimmed a 13-point lead to two late in the third quarter.

Wilson, a four-time MVP, became the first player in franchise history to record multiple 45-point games. Wilson's fifth 40-point game is now the most in WNBA history. Wilson is the only player in WNBA history to score 45 or more points on 80% shooting

Las Vegas closes its four game road trip Sunday against the Atlanta Dream. Connecticut will be on the road against the Portland Fire.
