Canelo Alvarez - And New, Unified Middleweight Champion
Saul Canelo Alvarez defeated Gennady GGG Golovkin for the WBC WBA & Ring Lineal unified middleweight world championships. The crowd of 21,965 at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas witnessed one of the best fights of the year.
Judges Dave Moretti and Steve Weisfeld scored the fight 115-113 for Alvarez, and Glenn Feldman scored it 114-114.
The new WBA WBC Ring Lineal unified middleweight champ had this to say:
"I showed my victory with facts. He was the one who was backing up. I feel satisfied because I gave a great fight. It was a clear victory."
