Jermall & Jermell Charlo Draw Promotional Interest From Eddie Hearn, Bob Arum
Jermall Charlo (27-0, 21 KOs) and Jermell Charlo (30-0, 15 KOs) are drawing promotional interest from Matchroom Boxing (Eddie Hearn) and Top Rank Boxing (Bob Arum). "The Charlo Twins," from Houston, are two of the most exciting fighters in boxing today, racking up knockouts over their last nine of ten combined opponents. Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum both have lucrative streaming service deals in place and will look to sign any available world class fighters. The twin Charlo Brothers are potential stars on the rise, entertaining in and out of the ring.
According to ESPN, Jermall Charlo communicated that a mutual affiliate of the Charlos' and Hearn reached out to "gauge their interest" in a deal.
"We're definitely open to it and to hearing what he has to say, and me and my twin brother are willing to work something out if it makes sense. Of course I want to hear what he has to say." (Jermall Charlo, ESPN Dan Rafael)
DAZN is a sports streaming service that has linked up with Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn, to bring boxing back to the forefront of American sports. The service will announce more details on scheduling and roster in the next few months.
Charlo added that Top Rank's Bob Arum is also showing interest in boxing's favorite twin brothers. Top Rank has a mega deal in place with ESPN and their new subscription streaming service ESPN+, looking also to sign elite fighters.
Jermell Charlo will return to the ring June 9th, in Los Angeles, defending his WBC Jr. Middleweight title against veteran Austin Trout. Last month, Jermall Charlo sensationally knocked out Hugo Centeno Jr in two rounds. Both fighters are advised by Al Haymon will assist in any promotional agreements.
