Lamar Jackson Reflects on Baltimore Heartbreaker and Future As Ravens Miss Playoffs

BALTIMORE — Lamar Jackson’s 2025 season ended in gut‑wrenching fashion as the Baltimore Ravens fell 26‑24 to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18, eliminating Baltimore from playoff contention. Jackson threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns, connecting twice on deep strikes before the Ravens’ rookie kicker pushed a potential game‑winning field goal wide late in the fourth quarter. Despite the strong individual performance, Jackson and his teammates watched their season slip away, leaving questions about the franchise’s direction.

“I’m not even thinking about that right now, to be honest with you,” Jackson told reporters when asked about his future with the Ravens mere minutes after the loss. “We just lost a game, a divisional game, a game to put us in the playoffs. I’m still caught up in what just happened. That’s not my focus right now.”

The 2025 campaign marked another year of highs and lows for Jackson and Baltimore. He finished the season with 2,311 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions in 12 games while adding 340 rushing yards and two scores, showing his dual threat capabilities even when battling through injuries. Throughout the year, Jackson overcame a lower‑back contusion and other ailments to return and lead the offense, a testament to his toughness.

Jackson’s comments underscored a raw mix of frustration and unfinished business. “I don’t think I get over any loss,” he said earlier in the year about competitive defeats. “I never get over a loss, no matter how big or small.” While he stopped short of discussing coach John Harbaugh’s job security or roster changes, his focus remains squarely on processing the immediate pain of a season‑ending defeat and how to turn this disappointment into fuel for next year.
