Paige Bueckers scored 19 points and Jessica Shepard recorded her fifth triple-double of the season as the Dallas Wings defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 97-77 on Thursday night at College Park Center. Shepard finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists, while Nneka Ogwumike led Los Angeles with 18 points. Dearica Hamby added 14 for the Sparks, who fell to 12-26.
The teams were tied 44-44 at halftime before Dallas took control after the break. The Wings outscored Los Angeles 25-14 in the third quarter and used a 12-0 run spanning the third-quarter break to build a 74-58 advantage. Dallas also dominated the glass 46-27 and improved to 25-16, matching the franchise record for wins in a season.
Shepard's triple-double was her fifth of the season, placing her third on the WNBA's single-season list behind Alyssa Thomas, who had six in 2023 and eight in 2025. Bueckers added six rebounds, three assists and two steals in her first game back with Dallas after helping Team USA win gold at the FIBA Women's World Cup.
The Wings return to action Saturday, Sept. 19, when they host the Phoenix Mercury. The Sparks next play Sunday, Sept. 20, at home against the Portland Fire.
