Paige Bueckers 32-Point Performance Lifts Wings Over Storm, Ties Franchise Win Record

Paige Bueckers scored 32 points, Jessica Shepard added 11 points and 11 rebounds, and the Dallas Wings defeated the Seattle Storm 92-70 on Sunday at College Park Center. Bueckers shot 12 of 16 from the field and went a perfect 6 of 6 from 3-point range, while Flau’jae Johnson led Seattle with 23 points. The victory moved Dallas to 22-16 and tied the franchise record for regular-season wins.

Bueckers set the tone immediately, scoring 18 points in the first quarter as Dallas opened a 34-17 lead. She scored 23 points in the first half and helped the Wings build a lead as large as 35 points before Seattle trimmed the deficit to 15 entering the fourth. Bueckers’ six made 3-pointers without a miss tied the WNBA record for most 3-pointers made in a game without a miss.

Dallas also clinched the season series against Seattle with its third victory in three meetings. The Storm fell to 7-31 and have lost three straight and 14 of their last 15 games. Azzi Fudd, who is out for the season with a knee injury, and Aziaha James, who is dealing with a leg injury, did not play for Dallas, while Seattle was without Natisha Hiedeman because of a shoulder injury.

The Wings can clinch a playoff berth Tuesday when they host the Portland Fire at 7 p.m. CT. Seattle will return home Wednesday to face the Toronto Tempo. Dallas is scheduled to host Connecticut on Aug. 30 before the league's September break, while Seattle also has games against Los Angeles on Aug. 30 and Las Vegas on Sept. 17.
