Argentina Headlines Dallas World Cup Slate as England, Japan Bring Star Power to AT&T Stadium
The FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage will bring the biggest stars in futbol to Dallas this summer. Five matches have been scheduled at AT&T Stadium between June 14 and June 27. Argentina, England, the Netherlands and Japan headline, while Croatia, Sweden, Austria and Jordan complete one of the tournament’s strongest host-city schedules. Dallas will also host more matches than any other U.S. venue during the tournament.
Argentina enters the tournament as the defending World Cup champion after winning the 2022 title in Qatar lead by Lionel Messi. Argentina will face Austria on June 22 before returning for a June 27 matchup against Jordan. England and Croatia have a familiar rivalry on June 17, after meeting in the 2018 World Cup semifinal and UEFA Nations League. Japan will appear twice in Dallas, opening against the Netherlands on June 14 before facing Sweden on June 25.
The tournament will also showcase several of the sport’s biggest stars if current rosters remain intact heading into 2026. England could feature Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Harry Kane, while Croatia continues its transition following Luka Modrić’s historic run with the national team. Japan has become one of Asia’s most consistent international sides after advancing to the knockout stage in consecutive World Cups, and the Netherlands remains a perennial contender under a roster filled with top European club talent.
Dallas’ group stage schedule begins with Netherlands vs. Japan on June 14 at 3 p.m. CT, followed by England vs. Croatia on June 17 at 3 p.m. CT. Argentina faces Austria on June 22 at noon CT before Japan returns against Sweden on June 25 at 6 p.m. CT. Argentina closes the group stage schedule in Dallas against Jordan on June 27 at 9 p.m. CT before the city moves into the knockout rounds later in the tournament.
